What you’ll be doing

A GLC plug-in hybrid drives in with a warning in the hybrid system that only appears in cold weather. You set up the right measurements, compare them with the manufacturer’s values and find the sensor that deviates at low temperatures. In Hilversum you work with 28 colleagues. Everyone knows each other and knows where to find you when things get technically complicated.

• You are the specialist who tracks down faults the rest of the workshop can’t figure out
• You work on Mercedes-Benz and smart, with petrol, hybrid and fully electric drivetrains
• You analyse fault codes, read out systems and measure all the way down to the wiring and sensors
• After the repair you carry out software updates, coding procedures and calibrations
• You record your findings and explain clearly to customers what you have found
• APK inspections are part of the job too, and if you are not yet an inspector, you become one at the employer’s expense

What we’re looking for

• An MBO level 4 diploma as a technical specialist, or an MBO level 3 diploma as a senior car mechanic with brand or diagnostic courses on top
• Experience in diagnostics as a technical specialist. Are you an experienced senior car mechanic who wants to develop in this area? You are welcome
• A good command of Dutch and English, for working together and for English language technical documentation
• A driving licence
• You are accurate, work in a structured way and find complex electrical technology interesting
• APK certification is a plus, but not a requirement
