What you’ll be doing

Your day starts with an installer’s Sprinter that needs to be back on the road before noon. After that there is a Vito on the lift with a complaint about the automatic transmission, and at the end of the afternoon you get a C-Class ready for delivery in the showroom. In Hilversum you work with 26 colleagues on Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles and passenger cars.

• You alternate maintenance with heavier work, from changing automatic transmission fluid to replacing a cylinder head.
• With modern testing equipment you track down faults yourself, and with a tricky case the diagnostic technician looks at it with you.
• As a senior mechanic you take on the more complex repairs and teach colleagues what you already know.
• You carry out APK inspections, or you get that certification through the employer.
• Growing into a technical specialist is a realistic next step here.

What we’re looking for

• You have at least an MBO level 2 diploma in automotive technology.
• You speak good Dutch or English, because that is needed for safety in the workshop.
• You have a driving licence.
• You see what needs to be done, work carefully and are just as comfortable working alone as with a colleague.
• With an MBO level 3 diploma you start as a senior mechanic. Just finished your training at MBO level 2? You are welcome too.
