What you’ll be doing

A Volvo EX30 is in with a warning that comes back after every restart. The customer wants to know why, and the workshop looks to you. You connect the diagnostic equipment, work through the fault codes and find the module that needs an update. In Leiderdorp you work with 21 colleagues, in a workshop with good tools and equipment.

• You are the diagnostic expert for the complex faults, on petrol, hybrid and fully electric Volvos
• You analyse fault codes and trace the cause in the on-board computer, sensors and wiring
• You carry out software updates, coding procedures and calibrations
• You look for the solution in factory information and wiring diagrams and record everything in a clear report
• You bounce ideas off colleagues in the workshop and join a customer conversation when a technical explanation is needed
• You also carry out APK inspections. If you are not yet an inspector, you do the training at the employer’s expense

What we’re looking for

• You have an MBO level 4 diploma as a technical specialist, or an MBO level 3 diploma as a senior car mechanic with additional brand or diagnostic courses
• You have experience as a technical specialist or diagnostic technician. Are you an experienced senior car mechanic who wants to take the step? Welcome
• You speak Dutch and English, for working together and for technical documentation in English
• You have a driving licence
• You keep searching until you find the cause, work accurately and keep your knowledge up to date
• APK certification is a plus
