In Lijnden you are the one who solves the toughest Ford faults, from software to high voltage, in a compact team of 10.

What you’ll be doing

A Mustang Mach-E has had a fault for two days that only shows up in the morning. You read out the systems, put the wiring diagram next to it and find the cause in a sensor that falls just outside the specification. In Lijnden you work with 10 colleagues, and when things get technically tricky, they come to you.

• You use diagnostic equipment to find the cause of complex faults in the on-board computer, sensors and wiring, from petrol to fully electric
• You carry out software updates, learning procedures and calibrations yourself
• You dive into Ford manuals and wiring diagrams until you have the solution
• You exchange ideas with colleagues in the workshop and join customer conversations to explain technical questions clearly
• You also carry out APK inspections (the Dutch MOT), or you get that qualification at the employer’s expense

What we’re looking for

• An MBO level 4 diploma as technical specialist, or MBO level 3 first car mechanic with brand or diagnostic training
• Experience as a technical specialist or diagnostic technician. Are you an experienced first car mechanic who wants to take this step? You’re welcome too
• You speak Dutch and English, because a lot of technical documentation is in English
• A driving licence
• You don’t let go of a fault until you understand where it comes from, and you work in a structured way

What you get

• Salary between €3,200 and €5,000 gross per month, depending on your experience
• 38 hours per week, and 32 or 36 hours is open to discussion
