What you’ll be doing

A delivery company’s Vito has a warning light on the dashboard and the driver is waiting in the canteen. You read out the fault codes, find the cause and hand back the keys within the hour. After that, a Sprinter is waiting for its APK inspection. In Veenendaal you work with 43 colleagues on Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles and passenger cars.

• You combine maintenance with real repairs, such as changing automatic transmission fluid or replacing a cylinder head.
• You diagnose yourself with modern testing equipment and learn from the diagnostic technician when it gets tricky.
• You get new and used commercial vehicles ready for delivery to their new owner.
• As a senior mechanic you handle the more complex jobs and let colleagues look over your shoulder.
• If you want to go further, you can grow into a technical specialist.

What we’re looking for

• You have an MBO level 2 diploma in automotive technology or higher.
• You speak good Dutch or English, which matters for safety in the workshop.
• You have a driving licence.
• You are careful, you want to know why something is broken and you work independently or as part of a team.
• With an MBO level 3 diploma you start as a senior mechanic. APK certification is a nice bonus, but you can also get it here.

• Salary between €2,800 and €4,500 gross per month, depending on your experience
• 38 hours per week, and a shorter week of 32 or 36 hours is open for discussion.
