From GLC to smart #1: in Nieuwegein you work with 56 colleagues on Mercedes-Benz and grow into senior mechanic or technical specialist.

What you’ll be doing

It is Tuesday morning and on your lift there is an EQA in for a service, while your colleague next to you gets a smart #1 ready for delivery. In Nieuwegein you work in a large workshop with 56 colleagues on Mercedes-Benz and smart passenger cars.

• You alternate maintenance with repairs and modifications, from automatic transmissions to cylinder heads.
• With modern testing equipment you track down faults. In a team of this size there is always someone to bounce ideas off.
• You work with good tools in a modern workshop.
• You grow into a senior car mechanic and later into a technical specialist, the diagnostic expert who solves the trickiest faults.
• You carry out APK inspections, or you do the training through the employer.

What we’re looking for

• You have at least an MBO level 2 diploma in automotive technology. With an MBO level 3 diploma you start as a senior car mechanic and take on the more complex repairs.
• You speak good Dutch or English, so you can work together safely in the workshop.
• You have a driving licence.
• You only let go of a fault once it is really solved, and you work carefully with an eye for detail.
• You work just as easily on your own as together with a colleague.
• APK certification is a nice bonus. Don’t have it yet, or just out of school with your MBO level 2? You are just as welcome.

What you get

• Salary between €2,800 and €4,000 gross per month, depending on your experience
• You have a say in your working hours and schedule, so your work fits the rest of your week.
• 38 hours per week, with 32 or 36 hours open for discussion.
• 24 days of holiday with a full time job. Want more time off? You can buy 64 extra hours of leave every year.
• You follow training at brand importers and technical schools, and get your APK certification through the employer.
